Who is Choices Interior Decorating Inc.?
Choices Interior Decorating Inc. has been offering Interior Decorating courses in British Columbia since 1991 and incorporated in 2003.

    What does PCTIA mean?
    PCTIA stands for the Private Career Training Institution Agency.  This agency grants
    approval to training institutions offering private training and instruction in the province of BC. Choices is registered with the PCTIA.

    Qualifications

    • You must be able to communicate in spoken and written English
    • You must be 19 years or older, or have parental permission

    Proof of age from birth certificate, drivers licence or passport

    Application Process

    How do I apply for the program?
    Download the enrollment Application Form available on this web site and submit it by mail with the non refundable fee to Choices. See contact for address

    What happens after I forward the application agreement form?
    Once the application form is received with all the documentation and signatures including the non refundable fee, the applicant will be interviewed by the senior academic advisor. Students will be forwarded a contract that needs to be filled out and sent to and retained at Choices office.

    Do I have to be interviewed?
    Yes, all applicants will be informally interviewed by telephone.  International students will be interviewed via email.

    What is a letter of acceptance?
    This letter confirms that all documents and procedures have been completed and the applicant has been accepted into the Interior Decorator Career Training program.

    Funding

    Can I receive help for funding?

    • All students are responsible for arranging their own financing.
    • The tuition and manual fee are required 3 weeks prior to the program start date.
    • Payment for the manuals and supplies are required the first day of class.

     

    Payment
    Payment can be made by credit or by cheque.

    Employment

    What are my opportunities for finding employment?
    Each student is responsible for finding employment in the decorating industry. In this multi-faceted industry, opportunities are available in retail, wholesale, import/ export, with designers and architects, as sale representatives, management, sales associates, and consultants, or as an entrepreneur.

    Is my diploma recognized by businesses or other institutions?
    The recognition of this diploma depends on the business or institution.

    Program information

    How often are Interior Decorating Career Training programs offered?
    It is the plan to offer the program starting each year in:

    September finishing at the end of January
    and
    February finishing at the end of June

    Refunds
    What happens to my application if I apply for the current program and for some reason cannot attend?
    The application fee is non refundable.  However, it can be applied to the next intake.

    Attendance
    Regular attendance is mandatory.

    What is CDECA
    CDECA is the Canadian Decorating Association.  Students and Graduates are encouraged to join this organization which offers members the opportunity to network with each other, attend supplier/product seminars, become involved on a volunteer basis and aware of industry employment.
